We plan for healthy soil and optimum growth
Optimal nutrients for optimal output.
Our three-year crop management plans give you a clear, practical blueprint for how to make the most of your farm business year over year.
Client Portal
Access your crop management plan from a computer and phone for real-time recommendations and electronic reports, easily sharing among your farm team.Farm Summary
We’ll begin with an inventory of your farm’s current assets, charted as a starting point to reach your future goals. It’s a careful interplay of the number of animals, cropping strategy, the nutrient strengths and gaps unique to your soil, and a thorough analysis of your manure production and use.Nutrient Levels and Deficiencies
Micro and macro soil analysis will reveal what your fields need, and how shifting nutrient levels will boost your crop production. Providing the tools you need to make decisions on your farm.Phosphorus and Potassium Soil Tracking
We’ll graph two essentials for soil health— phosphorus and potassium — to forecast when your fields may tip into an excess or depletion of nutrients and to monitor success and growth on the farm.pH Soil Graphs & Liming Recommendations
Soil pH is another big determinant of well-balanced crops. When you track the acidity of your soil, you’ll know when to intervene and how. We’ll give you application rates specific to your fields with a worksheet to keep records.Crop Rotation
Crop plans change, your fertility plan needs to change with them. With annual updates you’ll move from one season to the next with confidence that every planting is strategic, designed for high soil health and crop production potential.Manure and Amendment Plan
We will create a strategy to get the most benefit from manure and amendments for spring, summer and fall, providing details for each field including crop, manure type, application rate, and required loads per field.Fertilizer Plan
To make sure our advice is field-ready, for each crop we’ll provide you a custom fertilizer plan with timing of application, field sizes (hectares and acres), fertilizer application rate (kg/ha and lbs/acre), fertilizer blends, tonnes required per field and total tonnage order.Field Maps and Laboratory Analysis for Soils and Manure
We will create field maps and collect soil samples to provide new lab analysis of your soils and manure. This will ensure the most up-to-date and accurate data is the foundation for your nutrient management plan.Field Nutrient Balance Sheets
We’ll give you nutrient balance sheets for each field, outlining field name, current phosphorus and potassium levels, crop nutrient requirements, nutrients applied to the crop, and final projected nutrient (N, P, K) balance over 3 years if the plan is followed.
“We have worked with LP since 2006. Since that time we’ve seen large increases in yield and forage quality based on their sound advice. We have achieved substantial gains in overall soil health and fertility. We look forward to continued success while working closely with LP Consulting.”
